TOUR ITINERARY:

Day 1: Casablanca – Hotel D

Our Morocco Women Only Tour is directed to ladies who are interested in learning the history and the modern life of women in Morocco. This tour focuses on the customs and the traditions practiced by Moroccan women at the level of dress codes, culinary traditions, weddings, etc. Our Morocco Women Only Tour is a magnificent way to see Morocco from a feminine point of view. Upon your arrival at Casablanca airport, our national guide will meet and greet you, before assisting you to your hotel to check in and relax. Welcome meeting then transfer to a nice local restaurant for a welcome dinner. Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes BLD 

After breakfast, we will start the city tour of Casablanca with an inside visit of Hassan II Mosque, the land mark of Casablanca and one of the largest mosques all over the Islamic world. We will continue along to Ain Diab Corniche where sometime walk along the cost line is highly appreciated. After the corniche, we will leave through the city centre to Rabat, the capital of the kingdom and one of the imperial cities. Stop first at the Kasbah of the Udayas, Rabat’s medina. This kasbah is a fortification constructed on a hill, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The Kasbah of the Udayas was constructed during the realm of the Almohads. Continue to Mohammed V Mausoleum. This Mausoleum is home to the tombs of the current king's grandfather, King Mohammed V, and his two sons King Hassan II and Prince Moulay Abdellah. Next to the Mausoleum, stop at Hassan Tower, which is the towering minaret of the Hassan Mosque. The construction of the site began in 1195. Transfer to Meknes, stopping to take pictures of the massive Bab El Mansour gate. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, continue the city tour of Meknes including Harri Souani stables, the medina ramparts, and the entrance to the Royal Palace. Continue along to the UNESCO-sponsored Roman ruins in Volubilis where you will have a guided tour. Transfer to Fes for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Fes (city tour) BLD

Enjoy the guided city tour of the spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes. The first stop of the morning is a visit to the entrance of the largest royal palace in Morocco. This palatial complex rests in the center of the Fes El-Jedid area and is surrounded by high walls with an intricate and elaborately decorated gateway that is permanently closed. The doors are bronze but they shine like gold. The next stop will be the old Medina (Fes el Bali). This medieval centre of Fez has not changed for centuries. Its narrow alleys house hundreds of merchants and craftsmen selling a range of products such as dates, fish, spices, copper urns and musical instruments. One of the most interesting sites in Fez is the Leather Souq and the oldest leather tannery in the world. The tannery dates back at least nine centuries. In the medina you will visit the Jamaa Al-Karaouine (the world’s first established university) and a Medersa (a Koranic school).  Lunch at a local restaurant and dinner at the hotel.

Day 4: Fes (Culinary Experience) BL                                                                

Today is your first direct contact with local women as far as the cooking traditions in Morocco are concerened. You will enjoy a culinary experience with a local lady chef to learn how to prepare some of the most delicious Moroccan dishes. The Moroccan cuisine is the product of thousands of years of direct contact of many civilizations and cultures, such as Amazigh (Berbers), Phoenecian, Roman, Spaniard, Portuguese, Corsican, French, Moorish, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and African cultures. It is also a great chance for you to learn about the Moroccan cabinet of spices, including dried ginger, cumin, salt, black pepper, turmeric...The whole group will work on a lunch menu, which will be your special food for lunch. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Fes.

Day 5: Fes – Midelt – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga BLD

After breakfast, leave Fes heading to the heart of the sahara desert. Stop first at Ifrane, a charming town and ski resort in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco. Ifrane is famous for its Alpine climate, European-style houses and its 1665 metres (5,460 ft) in elevation. The town experiences snow during winter months and a cool climate during summer. Ifrane is also the place where the lowest temperature was ever recorded in Africa, -24 °C in 1935. While in Ifrane, expect to find animals like the threatened Barbary Macaque and local tree species such as the native Atlas cedar, Scrub oak and the introduced London plane. Continue through many Amazigh (Berber) villages before getting to Midelt where you will stop for lunch. Leave through Ziz River, passing through a series of fortified villages before getting to Erfoud. Enjoy 4 wheel drive transfer to the heart of the sahara desert. Dinner and overnight at a charming desert camp by the dunes. 

Day 6: Merzouga – Tinghir – Ouarzazate BLD   

Enjoy an early morning sunrise camel ride along the golden sand dunes. Return to the desert camp for breakfast before driving to Tinghir via Rissani and Tinjdad. Tinghir is a gorgeous, 40km oasis, which boasts one of the largest palm groves in the country. Stop at Todra Gorge, a 300m wall, carved deep into the High Atlas Mountains. Lunch at a local restaurant then transfer to Ouarzazate along Dades Valley. The drive is spectacular, with hundreds of Kasbahs lining the route, winding through stunning desert landscapes, villages, palm groves, and with the expansive Jebel Sarhro lunar-scape to the south. Dades valley is known as valley of figs. Continue to Kelaat M’Gouna, a large village which is famous for cultivating roses. Expect to find many fine, rose-infused products there. Transfer to Ouarzazate, also known as “Morocco’s Hollywood,” for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech BLD

Begin the city tour of Ouarzazate with Taourirt Kasbah, which is considered one of the most beautiful kasbahs in Morocco. Next, visit the film studios where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot. Continue on to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou. The village is a great example of earthen clay architecture that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Ait Ben Haddou is an iconic landscape immortalized in such films as “The Man Who Would Be King (film) (1975)”, “Jesus of Nazareth (1977)”, “The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)”, “ Gladiator (2000)”, “Son of God (film) (2014)”, ect. Lunch at a local restaurant then transfer to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the magnificent Tiz In Tichka pass for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Marrakech (city tour) BLD

Enjoy the guided city tour of Marrakech after breakfast. The morning begins with a visit to the Kotoubia Mosque. The mosque is the largest in Marrakech and one of the oldest in the world. The minaret, 77 metres (253 ft) in height, includes a spire and orbs. It was completed under the reign of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184 to 1199), and has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and Hassan Tower of Rabat. Continue to the world-famous Jemaa el Fna Square, which houses arrays of food, snake charmers, local musicians fortune-tellers, etc. There’s nowhere on earth like the Jemaa el Fna, the square at the heart of old Marrakesh. Your next stop is the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. The Saadian tombs date back from the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service. The mausoleum comprises the interments of about sixty members of the Saadi Dynasty that originated in the valley of the Draa River. Lunch will be served at the hotel. Dinner at a very nice local restaurant. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech (Caleche ride to Majorelle Gardens + Hammam) 

Enjoy a wonderful ride through the new town on horse drawn carriages to the famous Majorelle Gardens. The garden is a twelve-acre botanical garden created by the expatriate French artist Jacques Majorell (1886-1962). The edifice was designed by the artist himself between in the 1920s and 1930s, and it took him forty years of passion and dedication to create this enchanting garden in the heart of the “Ochre City”. Majorelle Gardens is also home to a Berber museum with a floor space of over 200 m². The Museum displays more than 600 objects, in a compelling panorama on Berber culture in Morocco. In the afternoon, enjoy a traditional Hammam and Spa Session at one of the most exotic places in Marrakech. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 10: Marrakech – Essaouira – Imintanoute BD

After breakfast, transfer to Essaouira where you will spend most of the day at leisure. This relatively small, easily navigable beach city is ideal for a free day. Essaouira has got a distinct multicultural feel, resulting from the large Portuguese, French, and Jewish populations that once called it home. Its mild climate and expansive stretches of ocean sand also place it among Morocco’s top beach towns. Essaouira’s walled medina was added to UNICCO’s World Heritage list in 2001. Its well-preserved, late-18th-century fortified layout is a prime example of European military architecture in North Africa. For the visitor, the mellow atmosphere, narrow winding streets lined with colourful shops, whitewashed houses and heavy old wooden doors make it a wonderful place to stroll. Late in the afternoon, transfer to Imintanoute, a very nice Berber village where you will have an authentic experience. You will have the chance to participate in the daily activities of Berber women. Welcome mint tea prepared by the ladies followed by dinner. Overnight in Imintanoute.

Day 11: Imintanoute “A Day in the Life of a Berber Woman” – Casablanca BLD

Our morning after breakfast at the Berber Cultural Center will start with a tea making demonstration. After that, the group will be split into teams. One team will prepare Tagines for lunch (the traditional way) while another team will knead bread and bake it in a traditional oven. Everybody will take turns to participate in the activities of the day. You will have lunch the local style. There will be a Tea-making contest after that and the winner will get a prize. In the afternoon, enjoy a Henna Session with the ladies to learn from them some of the most fascinating tricks to do the Henna. It is also a good chance to chat with them over a cup of mint tea and Moroccan sweets. Late in the afternoon, transfer to Casablanca. Farewell dinner at  the hotel.  

Day 12:Casablanca airport B

After breakfast, we will assist you to Casablanca airport for your return flights.
