TOUR ITINERARY:

 

 

Day 1: Casablanca airport – Hotel 

Meet and greet at Casablanca airport, then transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day at leisure to relax. Optional welcome dinner at a special restaurant. (Rick’s Café or similar).

 

Day 2: Casablanca – Rabat B

After breakfast, begin the city tour of Casablanca with an inside visit of Hassan II mosque. Continue to Ain Diab Corniche for a pleasant stroll along the coast. Go on to Mohammed V Square in the city center. Complete your city tour with the visit of Abderrahman Slaoui's Foundation Museum. Enjoy an optional lunch at a nice restaurant, then transfer to Rabat, the capital of the kingdom and one of the Imperial cities. Start a short orientation tour covering the entrance to the royal palace. Check in at your hotel. Optional dinner at a very nice local restaurant (Restaurant Le Dhow or similar). Overnight in Rabat.

 

Day 3: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes B

After breakfast, continue the city tour of Rabat starting with the Kasbah of the Udayas, Rabat’s medina. Continue to Mohammed V Mausoleum followed by Hassan II Tower, one of the oldest mosques left in existence. Transfer to Meknes where you will enjoy an optional lunch at a nice local restaurant. After lunch, stop to take pictures of the massive Bab El Mansour gate. The city tour of Meknes includes Harri Souani stables, the medina ramparts, and the entrance to the Royal Palace. Continue along to the UNESCO-sponsored Roman ruins in Volubilis where you will have a guided tour. Transfer to Fes for overnight.

 

Day 4: Fes (city tour) B

Enjoy the guided city tour of Fes after breakfast. The tour includes the entrance to the biggest royal palace in Morocco. Continue the tour with a panoramic view of the old medina, before stopping to enjoy a demonstration of the art of traditional mosaic making. This traditional architectural gem of a craft crossed the straits and influenced grand palaces and homes between Northern Africa and Andalusia. Continue the city tour venturing to the heart of the largest old medina in the world. There, you will visit the Jamaa Al-Karaouine––the world’s first established university––and a Medersa (a Koranic school), not to mention the tanneries, artisan quarters, and souks. Optional dinner at a charming local restaurant (Restaurant Al Fassia or similar). Overnight in the hotel.

 

Day 5: Fes – Ifrane – Beni Mellal – Marrakech B

After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech. Stop first at Ifrane, a charming town and ski resort in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco. Ifrane is famous for its Alpine climate, European-style houses and its 1665 metres (5,460 ft) in elevation. The town experiences snow during winter months and a cool climate during summer. Ifrane is also the place where the lowest temperature was ever recorded in Africa, -24 °C in 1935. While in Ifrane, expect to find animals like the threatened Barbary Macaque and local tree species such as the native Atlas cedar, Scrub oak and the introduced London plane. We will then move on to Benni Mellal where you will stop for an optional lunch. Continue to Marrakech for overnight.

 

Day 6: Marrakech (city tour) B

After breakfast, enjoy the city tour of Marrakech with a local guide. Start with the Koutoubia Minaret, built in the middle of the 12th century by Abdel Momen Ben Ali, on the ruins of a much older palace that was built during the Al Moravid dynasty. Continue to the Jemaa El Fna Square, the most popular touristic attraction in the city of Marrakech with many traditional Moroccan performances and an ambience that is never found anywhere else. Discovering even more treasures of the city of Marrakech, you will then visit the Bahia Palace, constructed during the reign of the Alaouite dynasty in the 19th century as a royal residence and became a highlight of the city ever afterwards. The next stop of the day will be to the Saadian Tombs built at the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century as a royal cemetery. Optional lunch a nice local restaurant. Spend the rest of the day in the old medina with its charming Souks (markets). Optional dinner at a charming local restaurant and overnight in the hotel. (Restaurant Dar Moha or similar).

 

Day 7: Marrakech (Optional cooking class) B

After breakfast, you will have the chance to enjoy one of our Morocco Culinary Classes and Adventures (optional). The experience is amazing as you will learn the secrets of one of the best cuisines around the world. The cooking workshop is conducted by a local cook or a chef. You will work alongside a translator, using easy-to-use modern equipment found in everyday kitchens. At the end of the workshop, you will enjoy the fruit of your labor. At a typical half-day workshop, one learns to prepare an appetizer and a main dish, or a main dish and dessert. The afternoon will be at leisure with the possibility of a hammam and spa session. Overnight in Marrakech.  

 

Day 8: Marrakech - Zagora (Sahara Desert) BD (Optional: Helicopter trip to the Sahara Desert)

After breakfast, transfer to the sahara along the magnificent Tizi in Tichka pass on the High Atlas Mountains. The trip takes you along the amazing Draa Valley and many Amazigh (Berber) villages. Along the way, the Draa River cuts a deep channel between the Jebel Sarhro and the Anti Atlas Mountain ranges, through a series of steep canyons famous for their cliffs of green and black rock. The inhabitants cluster together in fortified villages called “Ksours”, surrounded by their patchwork blanket of fields and palm groves. The dates and watermelon are the main agricultural products of the valley. At your arrival, enjoy a sunset camel ride to your deluxe desert camp. Dinner and overnight under tents.   

 

Day 9: Zagora – Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Asni (Kasbah Tamadot) BD

After breakfast, enjoy the city tour of Zagora including the famous Tamgroute library. The latter has Coranic scripts dating back to the 12th century. Transfer to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s Hollywood and its main gate to the sahara desert. The city tour of Ouarzazate includes Taourirt Kasbah. The latter is considered one of the most beautiful Kasbahs in the country. Next, visit the film studios, where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot. Continue on to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou, the iconic landscape immortalized in such films such as Lawrence of Arabia (1962), The Jewel of the Nile (1985), The Living Daylights (1987), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Alexander (2004), etc. Enjoy an optional lunch at a very nice local restaurant. Leave Ait Ben Haddou crossing the High Atlas Mountains to Richard Bransons’ famous mansion: Kasbah Tamadot. This Kasbah is an exceptional place for travelers who look for wonderful places to relax and enjoy the amazing beauty of nature.

 

Day 10: Asni (Kasbah Tamadot) BD

After breakfast, enjoy a half day trip to Asni and Ourigane. The journey takes you to Amazigh (Berber) villages surrounded by the astonishing views of the High Atlas Mountains. Asni is a village at an altitude of 1500 meters. The village is dominated by the Djebel Toubkal, with the highest summit in North Africa at 4167 m. It is also the place of departure for a lot of hiking in the High Atlas. On the way, in the valleys with several villages, one can admire the vast countryside covered with green oaks, cypresses and other typical vegetation of the Atlas. Take a small mountain-pass to arrive to Ouirgane through the canyons of the Oued N'Fis. From the mountain-track there is a magnificent view of the surrounding area. In the afternoon, return to Kasbah Tamadot to relax at this amazing Kasbah. Kasbah Tamadot is an exceptional place for travelers who look for wonderful places to relax and enjoy the amazing beauty of nature.Dinner at Kasbah Tamadot.

 

Day 11: Asni (Kasbah Tamadot) (Free day) BD

Enjoy your day at leisure in this wonderful place. Optional farewell dinner at kasbah Tamadot.

 

Day 12: Kasbah Tamadot – Marrakech airport B

After breakfast, we will assist you to Marrakech airport for your return flight.
