LAND EXCURSIONS:

Toudgha Voyages Day Trips and Land Excursions are addressed to travelers who prefer to stay in one city for a couple of nights with days at leisure instead of moving from a city to another every night, which is a nomad’s option. All the Land Excursions proposed in this section sart from Marrakech; we can also book your day trips starting from Tangier, Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Agadir or Ouarzazate. The latter options remain upon request.

Concerning Marrakech, the city is ideally located for day trips and tours covering the historical sites of the city, the Atlas Mountains, the sahara desert, the Berber (Amazigh) villages and the Atlantic Ocean. An ideal day tour of Marrakech takes you around its historical monuments. Among these monuments, you will visit the Kotoubia Mosque, The Saadian Tombs, the famous Jemaa L’fna square and Ben Youssef Medersa. As to the most interesting outskirts around the city, you will have many options of day trips. The first of these options are the Atlas Mountains, which includes trips to the Ourika Valley, the foothills of Jebel Toubkal (Toubkal Mountain) peak and the green valleys and dam in the surroundings of Ouirgane. Each of these trips can be spiced with one of the finest trekkings in the world and lunch at the home of a local family.

The day trips from Marrakech are also addressed to travelers who want a glimpse of the sahara desert and the beautiful kasbahs in the south of Morocco. Traversing the Tichka Pass over the High Atlas mountains, the highest major mountain pass of North Africa with an elevation of 2,260 m above the sea level, you will get to Ouarzazate, Morocco’s main gateway to the sahara desert. You will have the chance to enjoy the amazing views of steep hillsides clustered with fortified mud dwellings housing many families and their livestock. This trip is also a great chance to visit the UNESCO world heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, used as a backdrop for more than 20 films and one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road where camel caravan traders brought slaves, gold, ivory and salt from Saharan Africa to Marrakech and beyond. The trips from Marrakech to the sahara desert are always crowned with sunset or surise camel rides in the desert and overnights under Berber tents in the heart of the sand dunes.

Other charming options for day trips from Marrakech are the wonderful cities of Agadir and Essaouira. The two cities are on the Atlantic Ocean and both of them offer stunning sites and views for a wonderful day at leisure.
