TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 1: Tangier port – Hotel
We will pick you up at Tangier port then assist you to your hotel. The rest of the day will be dedicated to an orientation tour of the city. Overnight in Tangier.
Day 2: Tangier B
Enjoy a full day guided tour of Tangier, Morocco’s main gate to Europe and the favorite place for many artists from around the world. Tangier is an incredibly unique city with many landmarks worth seeing. Begin with a tour of the world-famous St. Andrews Church. Continue through the neighborhood of villas and mansions where we will see the Royal palace among the houses of many celebrities. Transfer to Cape Spartel, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean. There, we will visit the Cave of Hercules, which dates back to the Neolithic era. Return to Tangier to resume your city tour. This will include the Dar El oued Makhazen Kasbah, the American Legation, the Mendoubia Gardens, and the Grand and Petit Socco, where we will watch some Andalusian musicians. Overnight in Tangier.
Day 3: Tangier – Chaouen B
After breakfast, transfer to Chaouen, a fascinating little town tucked away in the Rif mountainside. Founded in the 15th century, Chefchaouen was settled by the Moorish and then abandoned by them until the 20th century, when it was resettled by Europeans. As a result, the town retains a characteristically medieval feel, which makes it a wonderful place to visit. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Day 4: Chaouen B
Enjoy a full day tour of Chaouen. Chefchaouen or Chaouen, as it is often called by Moroccans, is a popular tourist destination because of its proximity to Tangier and Ceuta. The name refers to the shape of the mountain tops above the town that look like the two horns (chaoua) of a goat. "Chef Chaouen" derives from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen. Overnight in Chaouen.
Day 5: Chaouen – Larahe – Asilah – Tangier B
After breakfast, leave chaouen heading to Larache. Periods of Amazigh (Berber), Arab and Spanish rule have left their mark on this city, although the most dominant is the Muslim influence. The layout of the old town is typically Moorish, while houses in the new town seem to be Andalusian in style. Leave to Asilah where you will stop for some time to visit this beautiful town. Asilah is a fortified town on the northwest tip of the Atlantic coast. Its ramparts and gateworks remain fully intact and its history dates back to 1500 B.C., when the Phoenicians used it as a base for trade. The city is now a popular seaside resort, and it hosts annual music and arts festivals, including a murales painting festival: the best paintings remain on the Medina walls for the following years. Continue to Tangier for overnight.
Day 6: Tangier port B
After breakfast, we will assist you to Tangier port for your ferry transfer to Tarifa, Algeciras or Gibraltar in Spain.
