TOUR ITINERARY:
Day 01: Marrakech airport – Hotel D
Meet and greet at Marrakech Menara airport then transfer to the hotel. Enjoy a short orientation tour after that with a stop at the new town. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 02: Marrakech BD
Enjoy the guided city tour of Marrakech after breakfast. The morning begins with a visit to the Kotoubia Mosque. The mosque is the largest in Marrakech and one of the oldest in the world. The minaret, 77 metres (253 ft) in height, includes a spire and orbs. It was completed under the reign of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184 to 1199), and has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and Hassan Tower of Rabat. Continue to the world-famous Jemaa el Fna Square, which houses arrays of food, snake charmers, local musicians fortune-tellers, etc. There’s nowhere on earth like the Jemaa el Fna, the square at the heart of old Marrakesh. Your next stop is the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. The Saadian tombs date back from the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service. The mausoleum comprises the interments of about sixty members of the Saadi Dynasty that originated in the valley of the Draa River. Dinner and overnight in Marrakech.
Day 03: Marrakech – Ouarzazate BD
After breakfast, transfer along the spectacular High Atlas Mountains and Tiz in Tichka pass heading to the south of Morocco. At your arrival to Ouarzazate, begin the city tour of this amous city, also known as “Morocco’s Hollywood”. Start the city tour with Taourirt Kasbah, which is considered one of the most beautiful kasbahs in Morocco. Stop next at Kasbah Tifoultoute with its remarkable views over a beautiful valley. Complete the city tour of Ouarzazate with the visit of the film studios where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.
Day 04: Ouarzazate – Zagora – M’hamid BD
Transfer to Zagora after breakfast, passing through a series of fortified villages. The trip to Zagora is amazing as you will pass through different landscapes that are different compared to the ones you have seen before. The dates and watermelon are the main agricultural products of the area. Zagora is flanked by the mountain Zagora from which the town got its name. Originally it was called 'Tazagourt' the singular of plural 'Tizigirt’ in Amazigh (Berber) language. Enjoy the city tour of Zagora including the famous Tamgroute library. The latter has Coranic scripts dating back to the 12th century. Visit Tamgroute village where pottery is the main labor of the inhabitants Change your vehicle with a 4x4 to start a magical trip to the heart of the sahara desert. Dinner and overnight in a charming desert camp by the dunes.
Day 05: M'hamid – Zagora –Tinghir BD
Enjoy an early morning camel ride along the golden dunes. Later in the morning and after breakfast, transfer back to Zagora in the 4x4. Leave Zagora to Tazarine where you may stop for an optional lunch there. Continue the tour to Tinghir, famous for its beautiful and very big oasis with more than 40 km length. The oasis is very rich with palm trees, olives, almonds and fig trees. Visit the famous Toudgha Gorge, a 300m cut deep wall into the mountains of the High Atlas and one of the rarest landscapes ever. Day 06: Tinghir – Dades – Kalaat M'Gouna – Ait Ben Haddou BD
Leave Tinghir after breakfast heading to Dades. Stop to take pictures of the wonderful valley before continuing along to Kalaat M'gouna. The latter is a big village which is famous for cultivating roses, and every year, the villages celebrates the rose with a festival attended by thousands of people from all parts of the world. Expect to find products extracted from the roes in this village. We will continue our tour through Morocco’s Hollywood, Ouarzazate, to Ait Ben Haddou for dinner and overnight.
Day 07: Ait Ben Haddou – Imlil BD
After breakfast, visit the wonderful fortress of Ait Ben Haddou. The village is a great example of earthen clay architecture that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Ait Ben Haddou is an iconic landscape immortalized in such films as “The Man Who Would Be King (film) (1975)”, “Jesus of Nazareth (1977)”, “The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)”, “ Gladiator (2000)”, “Son of God (film) (2014)”, etc. After the visit of Ait Ben Haddou, transfer through the Tichka pass to Imlil for dinner and overnight.
Day 08: Imlil – Refuge at Jebel Toubkal (3207m) BD
Today we will get a kick out of climbing the highest mountain peak in North Africa, which is Jebel Toubkal (4.167m). The panoramic views on top are worth the experience, and, the walk to the summit, though challenging, does not require much mountaineering experience. The first day, we will stop at the altitude of 3207m, and we will spend the night in a refuge. Pick-nique lunch will be served on the way and dinner will be included in the refuge.
Day 09: Jebel Toubkal (3207m) – Jebel Toubkal (4167m) – Refuge BD
After breakfast in the refuge, we will continue our way heading to the summit to enjoy great panoramic views from the top of the highest peak in North Africa. Later in the morning, we will start coming down the Jebel Toubkal, which will be smooth. We continue down the mountain to the refuge where we will have our lunch. Dinner and overnight at the refuge.
Day 10: Refuge – Imlil – Marrakech BD
After breakfast, continue the trek down the mountain to Imlil. Enjoy sometime to relax than transfer to Marrakech for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Marrakech B
Day at leisure. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Day 12: Marrakech airport B
After breakfast, transfer to Marrakech airport for your return flight.
