Day 02: Marrakech (city tour) B
Enjoy the guided city tour of Marrakech after breakfast. The morning begins with a visit to the Kotoubia Mosque. The mosque is the largest in Marrakech and one of the oldest mosques in the world. The minaret, 77 metres (253 ft) in height, includes a spire and orbs. It was completed under the reign of the Almohad Caliph Yaqub al-Mansur (1184 to 1199), and has inspired other buildings such as the Giralda of Seville and the Hassan Tower of Rabat. Continue to the world-famous Jemaa el Fna Square, which houses arrays of food, snake charmers, local musicians, and fortune-tellers. There’s nowhere on Earth like the Jemaa el Fna, the square at the heart of old Marrakesh. Your next stop is the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. The Saadian tombs in Marrakech date back from the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service. The mausoleum comprises the interments of about sixty members of the Saadi Dynasty that originated in the valley of the Draa River. Overnight in Marrakech.
Day 03: Marrakech (1st round of golf) (B)
After breakfast, start your golf experience in Morocco at Palm Golf Palmeraie in Marrakech. This golf course with its amazing 27 championship holes is a wonderful choice for your first round of golf in Morocco. Palm Golf Palmeraie is designed by the American architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. The course displays some of the most exceptional landscapes and state-of-the-art facilities. It offers spectacular, panoramic views over the Atlas Mountains and features eleven lakes. Measuring 77 hectares. Palm Golf Palmeraie is a great golfing spot for all-level players; the course ensures the more experienced players a challenging and exciting test, while beginners can very easily take their first steps in the discipline. In fact, Palm Golf Palmeraie is one of Morocco’s most beautiful golf courses all year round. In the afternoon, transfer to your hotel for overnight.
Day 04: Marrakech (2nd round of golf) (B)
After breakfast, enjoy your second round of golf at Marrakech Royal Golf Club. This course is one of the oldest golf courses in the world. Marrakech Royal Golf Club is a legendary course of 27 holes that has been a true reference for international players since 1933. This Golf Club was one of the favorite golf courses for the late king of Morocco, His Majesty King Hassan ll. It was also one of the most favorite courses for Winston Churchill, David Lloyd George and Ike Eisenhower, who all enjoyed playing in this course. Marrakech Royal Golf course was designed by Arnaux Massy, who was one of France's most successful professional golfers, most notable for winning the 1907 Open Championship. Marrakech Royal Golf Club is situated at the feet of the snow-covered Atlas Mountains and is embellished by a profusion of cypress, eucalyptus, palm trees, olive trees, orange trees and apricot trees. It is an "English style" course with strategically placed bunkers protecting its greens and testing tall trees and palms. The most recent addition to this course is Menara Loop; the new course was designed by Gery watine and Thierry Sprecher. Late in the afternoon, transfer to your hotel for overnight.
Day 05: Marrakech – Essaouira (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Essaouira where you will enjoy most of the day at leisure. This relatively small, easily navigable beach city is ideal for a free day. Essaouira has got a distinct multicultural feel, resulting from the large Portuguese, French, and Jewish populations that once called it home. Its mild climate and expansive stretches of ocean sand also place it among Morocco’s top beach towns. Essaouira’s walled medina was added to Unesco’s World Heritage list in 2001. Its well-preserved, late-18th-century fortified layout is a prime example of European military architecture in North Africa. For the visitor, the mellow atmosphere, narrow winding streets lined with colourful shops, whitewashed houses and heavy old wooden doors make it a wonderful place to stroll. Overnight in Essaouira.
Day 06: Essaouira (3rd round of golf) (B)
After breakfast, enjoy another golfing experience at Mogador Golf Club in Essaouira. Mogador Golf Club has two courses. The course we will use in our Morocco Golf Breaks is the North Course, which is an 18 holes course that has been open since July 2009. The North Course was ranked in 2010 within the “world’s top 20 of the most exciting new courses” by Golf World magazine. The course was designed by the South African golf player Gary Player who was widely considered as one of the greatest players in the history of golf. The design of this magnificent 18-hole course has made good use of the existing sand dunes and vegetation to minimize the environmental impact. While playing at Mogador Golf Club, you will be enjoying simultaneously breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The North Course has already welcome three professional tournaments, from the Alps & EPD Tour. Enjoy an 18-hole game. Overnight in Essaouira
